Welcome to The Ohio State University Circulation Technology website!

Nearly 5 million Americans have heart failure, and heart failure accounts for 20% of all hospitalizations in the population over 65 years old.  Cardiovascular perfusionists participate in over 500,000 open heart procedures per year in the United States.  This program trains 20% of graduates entering the workforce, with 100% full-time or fellowship employment within 6 months of graduation.

The Circulation Technology Program is accredited by the Accreditation Committee-Perfusion Education (AC-PE) at the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).  This program exceeds all accreditation standards.  For 40 years we have been providing undergraduate and post baccalaureate training in perfusion education. The Circulation Technology program was organized in response to a grant by the National Institutes of Health in the 1970s.
