Applicants to the Health Information Management and Systems major must meet with a HIM professional of their choosing as part of the application process. This meeting is requested to help the prospective student obtain a better understanding of the HIM field and to give the student a chance to meet a HIM professional.
The Medical Information Management Department of The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) schedules appointments with prospective students on the 3rd Friday of each month. The dates are listed below. Students must call the general MIM dept number at 614 293-9996 to schedule an appointment. Below is a table containing a list of available appointment dates and the HIM contact person for that day. All meetings will be held in 140 Doan Hall of the medical center. At the end of the session the student will be given a letter verifying that they had attended a tour of the department.
