RT @ OSU Admission Criteria

Admission decisions are based
upon these factors:
•Quality of application, including personal statement and experience record
•Personal interview focused on knowledge of the respiratory care field, academic & career goals, and communication skills
•Academic achievement: GPA and grades in mathematics and science prerequisite courses.
Academic Achievement
For collegiate applicants, academic achievement is the overall college point hour ratio and grades earned in the Prerequisite Science and Mathematics Courses.  These pre-professional courses must be completed with grades of C- or better and the science/mathematics grade point average must be at least 2.50.
What Counts
All grades from all courses taken at accredited post-secondary institutions are considered in computing the overall college point hour ratio. Students who have discontinued their college enrollment for a period of five years or more may qualify for a recalculation of cumulative point hour ratio for admission purposes. Contact the SAMP Student Affairs Office for details.

How It Works
When more students apply than can be accommodated in a class, admission is competitive and on a space-available basis. Students admitted to all Allied Medicine undergraduate programs are required to have a minimum cumulative point hour ratio of 2.50; however, the minimum cumulative point hour ratio of the RT class most recently admitted was 2.72.  See Admission Statistics.
