MAYS ('78) APPOINTED TO ORCB
Marc Mays, MS, RRT, ('78) Director of
Respiratory Therapy at OSUMC and Clinical
Instructor for Respiratory Therapy was
recently appointed by Governor Robert Taft
to a three year term as a professional
member of the Ohio Respiratory Care
Licensing Board.

GINGRICH ('93) FACILITATES HUGE
DONATION
Matt Gingrich, BS,RRT ('93), Clinical
Project Leader for Datex-Ohmeda, Inc of
Louisville Colorado, arranged for his
company to donate new state-of-the-art
ICU, transport, and OR monitors and pulse
oximeters to the Respiratory Therapy
Division. This equipment, valued at over
$80,000, is the largest corporate donation
ever received by RT and will significantly
enhance student learning patient
monitoring parameters and our research
capabilities in the RT laboratories. For
years to come, students will be indebted
to Matt and Datex-Ohmeda.

"CURRENT CONCEPTS IN
RESPIRATORY CARE" HUGE SUCCESS
Over 150 respiratory therapists,
including 25 OSU-RT alumni, attended the
all day conference on February 26, 2004 at
the Fawcett Center on the OSU campus. The
event sold out in one week, and over 200
RTs were unable to attend. Attendees earned
6 hours of continuing education units
approved by RT @ OSU for license renewal. Among
the topics were an Update on National
Emphysema Treatment Trials, Nitric Oxide
therapy, and ARDS. The planning
committee from RT in the School of Allied
Medical Professions and RT at OSU Medical
Center began planning next years
conference at the Buckeye Hall of Fame
immediately following the conference.

New RT Website On-line
SAMP and all the divisions got help
from 2MD to redesign the websites. Lots of
new pictures, new navigation and a
great new look! The RT
Alumni page is now located 'About the
Program.'
