RT Staff to Expand at OSUMC
-
Marc Mays, MA, RRT, Director of
Respiratory Therapy at The Ohio State University
Medical Center is predicting huge increases in his
therapist staff in the future. When the 90 bed Ross
Heart Hospital opened recently all the beds were full
within 24 hours, and plans are now underway to add an
additional 2 floors. There are also plans to build a
new 290 cancer hospital, and an 80+ bed Critical Care
Tower at the medical center. Mays predicts these
additions will result in the need for 40-60 additional
respiratory therapists. Recruiting efforts are
already underway, starting with new higher salary
ranges for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) and
Respiratory Care Therapists (CRT).
