RT @ OSU Admission Policies

Majoring in RT requires an application.
Application forms are available on-line. See Get an Application. The on-line application now includes the  personal statement, experience record, and projected course schedule. For OSU students, academic records are automatically forwarded with the application.
On-Line applications available September 1

There are several admission options.
The RT division invites applications from high school seniors who have been admitted to the OSU School of Allied Medical Professions for Direct Admission and from collegiate students who are following the pre-professional curriculum outlined for sophomore or junior level admission.  And post-baccalaureate students are welcomed to apply.

Application Deadlines are 12/31/07 & 3/31/08.
December 31 is for students who will be ready to start the RT major courses Autumn quarter, 2008.  March 31 is for early admission.  Some students may be admitted one to two years before they schedule courses in the major.  These deadlines do not apply to high school seniors.  Late or incomplete applications may be deferred for consideration of admission to subsequent classes.  See RT Application Dates & Deadlines
Admission is selective & on a space-available basis.
Admission decisions are based upon these factors:
1. Quality of application, including personal statement and experience record. 2. Personal interview focused on knowledge of the respiratory care field, academic & career goals, and communication skills. 3. Academic achievement, especially in math and science.
See RT Admission Criteria
Prerequisites must be completed before RT.
Before beginning the major RT courses, students are expected to have completed all of the Prerequisite Courses specified in the pre-professional curriculum. These prerequisites need NOT be completed at the time of application. The Respiratory Therapy admissions committee uses the projected Course Schedule Plan of the application to determine when applicants will complete their prerequisite courses and be eligible to start the RT major courses.
Up-to-date official transcripts are needed.
Applicants who are attending other colleges or universityies need to assure that up-to-date, official transcripts with the latest grade information are forwarded to the OSU Professional Admissions Office as soon as they are available. To be official, transcripts must be sent to Professional Admissions directly from the institutions attended.

Official transcripts should be sent to:
