RT  Transfers

At OSU, Respiratory Therapy is a 4-year baccalaureate program, including 2 years of general studies (including all the math and sciences used as prerequisites) and 2 years of respiratory therapy and professional supporting courses. The prescribed number of credits to earn a degree in this major is 199-quarter hours. To earn a degree from OSU, students must earn at least 45 credits through regular course enrollment at OSU. The other 144 credits are available through transfer or credit by evaluation.  Refer to A Curriculum Overview for RT Transfer Students.

Students interested in majoring in Respiratory Therapy and who have respiratory therapy credits should apply for admission using the standard application prior to established deadlines.  The same admission criteria apply to all applicants.

Students who have earned credits in Respiratory Therapy from accredited collegiate programs will receive transfer credit and may earn additional credit by examination for academic courses or by documentation of equivalent clinical experiences, either in school or on-the-job.
