The Ohio State University Masters Graduate Assistant Athletic Training Program
The Ohio State University employs 5 Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers through the Department of Athletics. Typically 2 or 3 positions are available each year Graduate Assistants usually work with one or more of the following sports: football, women’s ice hockey, men’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and aquatics sports. All of our graduate assistants are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of their assigned teams. Graduate assistants also participate in a mentoring program which focuses on development of leadership and administrative skills.
Vacant positions are available via the NATA job vacancy website. All postings will appear from October 1st to the first week of January.

Programs of Study
Graduate students are free to choose from a wide variety of degree programs at Ohio State. The minimum requirement for graduate school entrance is a 3.0 GPA and a combined GRE score of 1000 (above 50th percentile in each sub-score). Therefore these are the minimum standards for position consideration. Graduate Assistant athletic trainers normally choose from one of the following degree programs:

School of Physical Activity and Educational Services Masters of Arts Program:
Division of Anatomy
*This program has a time intensive curriculum the first quarter of graduate school. Coursework begins in August and requires 15 credit hours of gross and applied anatomy your first quarter.
