The General Education Curriculum (GEC) at The Ohio State University is a set of courses designed to expore students to a breadth of topics, most of which fall outside of the student's major course of study. 

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approved a revised General Education Curriculum on June 1, 2007. 

Students should plan to meet with an academic advisor in the School to determine which GEC applies to their particular situation.  This is especially true for transfer students. 

General Education Curriculum for students who entered OSU Summer 2007 - Spring 2008 (new first year students and transfer students with fewer than 45 credit hours) and all students who entered OSU Summer 2008 and after

General Education Curriculum for all students who entered OSU Spring 2007 and before and transfer students who entered OSU Summer 2007 - Spring 2008 with 45 or more credit hours.
