The General Education Curriculum (GEC) at The Ohio State University is a set of courses designed to expore students to a breadth of topics, most of which fall outside of the student's major course of study.

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approved a revised General Education Curriculum on June 1, 2007.  This revision affects students who will begin coursework at Ohio State in Summer 2007 or after, or students who have fewer than 45 credit hours upon transferring to Ohio State.

Students should plan to meet with an academic counselor in the School to determine which GEC applies to their particular situation.  This is especially true for transfer students.
