The Health Management concentration focuses on the business aspects of health care and health related services. The health services manager plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises various aspects of care and services provided in the health related environment. This concentration prepares graduates for entry-level management and staff positions in many sectors of the health industry including: managed care organizations, hospitals, physician group practices, clinics, insurance agencies, pharmaceutical companies and many others.
As a graduate, you will have not only have a strong business background, but also a strong health and science background to more effectively communicate with medical professionals. You will develop knowledge of management principles, reimbursement, finance, information systems, interpretation of date, ethical and legal considerations, and skills for managing people and systems.
