The Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Medical Dietetics integrates course work with supervised practice experience so that upon graduation, the student is eligible to sit for the National Registration Examination to become a registered dietitian (RD). Students may begin the curriculum immediately upon entry as a college freshman and can complete this program within four years.
This program is fully accredited by the American Dietetic Association Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education. The program was established in 1961 and was the first of its kind in the country.
Both The Ohio State University and The American Dietetic Association value diversity and encourage applications from individuals representing various backgrounds.
Mission
The Coordinated Program in Medical Dietetics, in conjunction with available expertise from the university and surrounding community, prepares high caliber, creative, and resourceful dietitians for current and future practice through didactic and supervised practice courses consistent with the Standards of Education for The Commission on Accreditation/Approval for Dietetics Education of The American Dietetic Association. The areas of emphasis are medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, and long term care.
