Applicants must:
1. Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale).
3. Provide verification of having completed the minimum academic requirements (ADA accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics) necessary for eligibility to sit for the national examination for Registered Dietitians. The program must have been completed within five years of applying for this program.
4. Receive a grade of C- or better in required undergraduate science courses.
5. Provide results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within the past five years. Plan to take the GRE exam before December 31, so that scores can be included in the application packet. Competitive applicants receive a score of approximately 500 in each portion of the GRE exam.
6. Submit the completed application packet according to the current application procedure.
7. Complete dietetics-related work or other types of experience, such as dietetic association memberships. Each application is evaluated individually and on its own merit.
8. Submit with the internship application a processing fee of $50.00 made payable to The Ohio State University.
Program of Study
This internship requires completion of a masters degree. The masters degree may be in clinical nutrition, allied medicine education, or allied medicine management. The program generally requires two years. A total of 51 quarter credits are required for completion.

A fee of $50.00 must accompany your application to the internship.

April 5, 2010: Notification day
April 7, 2010: Appointment Day: matched applicants must telephone the DI Program Director (Kay Wolf at 614-292-8131) to accept or decline the match by 5:00 pm EST.
Application to Graduate School
Apply by January 1, 2010 if you wish to be considered for a fellowship. If you do not wish to be considered for a fellowship, you may wait to apply to the University until after you are matched.
Once you have been matched and accepted in the Medical Dietetics internship program, you must complete and submit your application (website below) for admission into the School of Allied Medical Professions (Specify Department 045) Graduate Program at OSU.

Note: Be sure to specify School of Allied Medical Professions as the department to which you are applying (department 045). Admission to the Medical Dietetics internship is contingent on acceptance into the OSU Graduate Program. Candidates admitted to the internship program usually have no difficulty being admitted to Graduate Program.
Individuals providing references for the internship application may also use your graduate school references.
