Applying research to improve practice effectiveness
 | Welcome to the MODEL Project website! Allied health professionals have traditionally made clinical decisions based on their discipline’s theories and individual experiences. Yet we know that clinical decisions based on experience do not always result in optimal functional or medical results. Today’s practitioners must base their clinical decisions on research evidence of intervention effectiveness and results of clinical trials. | Despite universal agreement regarding the importance of using evidence based practice, it remains difficult to implement. Analyzing the research literature requires time and resources that are not always available to practicing allied medical professionals. Our goal is to provide resources and materials to allied health professionals to increase use of evidence-based and preventive practices by making practical and relevant information easily accessible. The site contains: - Resources for preventive practices for persons with disabilities or at risk for disabilities.
- Links to databases for information searching related to allied health practices
- Links to information on use of evidence based practice in allied health
This site has been developed by faculty and staff of the School of Allied Medical Professions, College of Medicine and Public Health and is supported by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Health Professions. |
