Program Objectives

The following courses are considered pre-major courses for the Medical Technology program.

Keep in mind, not all of the courses listed below must be completed before admission to our program. However, the number you have completed is considered in the admissions process.  It IS required that you, at the very least, complete Chem 121, 122, and 123, Math 150, Bio 113, and Stats 145 before submitting your application for admission (or have plans to complete them prior to your first quarter of enrollment in the program.) The rest of the courses are pre-req for specific MT courses so if admitted you will need to make yourself aware of when each of them must be completed.

Courses with an asterisk (*) beside them must be completed with a C- or better.

  • Statistics 145*
  • Math 150*
  • Micro 509*
  • Biology 113*
  • Chem 121
  • Chem 122
  • Chem123*
  • Molecular Genetics 500

And completion of one of the following sequences:

Medical Science Track - Chem 251, 252 and Biochem 511 

Certification Track - Molecular Biochem 311* and 312* OR Chem 251, 252 and Biochem 511

MLT Articulation Track - Molecular Biochem 211* and 212*
