Maureen Braughton

Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Braughton attended Columbus State Community College in Columbus, OH with her focus in Office Administration Technology.  Prior to joining the Occupational Therapy Division at The Ohio State University, Mrs. Braughton worked in several administrative positions at Edison Welding Institute, an affiliate of the University.  She also has administrative experience with Matrix Media Services, Inc., and The Association on Higher Education and Disability.

Mrs. Braughton is responsible for assisting Dr. Jane Case-Smith and the faculty with the administration of the Occupational Therapy Program, including scheduling for the Division Director, responsible for compiling all documentation and materials regarding Admissions, and maintaining current student records.  She is also responsible for assisting students with course schedules, registration, and materials.  In addition, Mrs. Braughton serves as the Administrative Liaison for the Occupational Therapy Division for The Hite Family Symposium, Textbook Coordinator for the Division, and is also the Secretary for the Respiratory Therapy Division at the School of Medical Professions.  For professional development, Mrs. Braughton regularly attends office administration training and education seminars.

Mrs. Braughton’s interests include being an avid OSU Football fan, NASCAR, reading, and doting on her nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Braughton is a Girl Scout Brownie leader at her niece’s elementary school.  She spends her summers as a member of a stockcar pit crew at Columbus Motor Speedway.  Recently, Mrs. Braughton and her husband John did the Richard Petty Ride-A-Long at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and rode 2 laps in a real race car at 165mph.  Their daughter Amber graduated in March of 2006 from The Ohio State University with a double major in Political Science and Human Development and Family Science.  She is currently a Social Worker for the Children Services Board of Richland County and is attending The Ohio State University Graduate School for Social Work.
