Occupational Therapy Division Mission

The faculty members of the division of Occupational Therapy at The Ohio State University reaffirm the missions of the university, college, and school, including commitment to teaching, service and research.  The faculty members are committed to providing a graduate education program that produces highly qualified, ethical entry-level professionals competent to deliver occupational therapy services.  Their mission is to produce graduates who will improve people’s lives through caring attitudes, skills in collaboration and communication, a desire to engage in life long learning, an understanding of health care and education systems, skills in clinical reasoning, competence in ethical and responsible decision making, and respect for the dignity of all individuals.  Consistent with their commitment to life long learning, the Division’s faculty provides graduate education with emphasis on promoting scholarship, leadership and research skills.  Faculty members further commit to improving people’s lives through innovation, research, education, and services in the occupational therapy field.
