Scholarly Activity:

My research focus is to determine an effective early intervention to prevent falls in the elderly including those with normal age related changes and those with neurologic disorders, especially Parkinson and Huntington’s disease. My aim is to develop interventions that prevent declines in mobility in the elderly and those with neurologic disorders. I plan to expand my studies to include those with Huntington’s disease and multiple sclerosis. Once effective interventions have been identified it will be necessary to ascertain the impact of implementing these interventions early in the disease process as well as the long term impact of these interventions on disease progression. I see patients clinically and for research as a consultant at the Movement Disorders clinic OSUMC. My research involves utilization of the GAITRite and many other mobility and fall risk assessment tools

Fun Facts:

During summers my family and I spend as much time as we can water skiing and hiking.  When I am not at work I spend most of my time cheering on my two boys in their many sports activitis. If I am not doing that, you can probably find me telling stories about my boys to anyone that will listen.
