Scholarly Activity

My most recent focus has been to develop an international service learning course in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico for DPT students. With Dr. Anne Kloos and nine second year DPT students, we traveled to Merida for a 10 day intensive program to provide physical therapy services in a variety of settings.

I have been involved in several federally-funded education projects, focusing on preparing university students to work with children. These interdisciplinary projects have involved working with faculty from several departments on campus. The IMPACTS project  attracted national attention and has been the subject of professional presentations.

I worked under the direction of Dr. Deborah Nichols on the EXCITE project, a multi-centered, federally-funded project investigating the effectiveness of constrained-induced therapy with individuals who have had strokes. I provided physical therapy evaluations for each of the subjects.

Fun Facts:

My husband and I have lived in Victorian Village, an historic area between campus and downtown, for over 30 years. We have raised two boys in this city neighborhood. They are in their 20s and still do their laundry at home. We enjoy music, movies, skiing, Buckeye sports and many other activities. We are active at Trinity Episcopal Church and at St. Joseph Montessori School, both of which are located in the city.
