Manuscript Reviewer: Pediatric Rehabilitation, 2003. Member of the American Stroke Association Education Sub-Committee of Operation Stroke, Canton, Ohio, August 2001 – August 2002. Scholary Activity:My basic science research focused on 1) control of locomotion (i.e., specific neural system or environmental modulators) in a variety of animal models, and 2) neuroplastic changes underlying functional recovery following central nervous system injury. Currently, my clinical research experiences focused on testing interventions (i.e., pharmacological or physical therapy) to 1) improve functional mobility and 2) prevent falls in individuals with neurodegenerative disorders. I also conduct educational research related to the effects of experiential learning experiences (i.e., service learning) on students’ professional developments and the populations served. I developed and oversee an interdisciplinary clinical experience for DPT students at the Columbus Free Clinic. With Dale Deubler, I have developed a service learning experience for our DPT students in Merida, Mexico. Publications (Past 10 Years): Kloos AD, Muller KJ, Modney BK. Some of our more memorable camping trips were to Mammoth Cave and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Both of my sons are avid baseball players, so my springs and summers are occupied watching their games.
