Students (past 3 years)

  • 40 students are enrolled each year as graduate students
  • 24 percent are male and 76 percent are female.
  • Their average age is 23.
  • 47 percent attended Ohio State; 90 percent attended Ohio colleges (including OSU).

Curriculum 

  • The DPT degree requires 13 quarters with 156 hours of course work in classroom and 40 weeks of clinical work.

Faculty

  • There are currently eight faculty with doctoral degrees and 12 faculty members are licensed physical therapists.
  • The student-faculty ratio is 4 to 1.
  • Nearly $5 million in grant funding was generated by faculty in the past 3 years.

Service

  • PT students and faculty provide thousands of hours of volunteer and pro bono service each year to community health centers serving people who have no other means of obtaining health care.
  • PT students work with faculty on three community service projects each year, representing more than 1,500 hours of service.

Alumni

  • OSU PT graduates routinely receive among the highest scores on the national boards.
  • More than 2,500 alumni have graduated from the Physical Therapy Program since 1955.
  • PT graduates work in all 50 states and in many foreign countries. 1,600 of them practice in Ohio.
