Eugene Law
As an agroecologist focused on weedy plants, the overarching goal of my research, teaching, and extension is to better understand how plants exhibit "weediness" (i.e. undesirable and hard to manage) as a function of agroecosystem processes that are mediated by environment and management, and how we can use this information to design environmentally and socioeconomically sustainable weed management programs. The focus of my work at the systems level requires multidisciplinary + collaboration, and the emphasis on agroecological approaches aligns very well with the AMP vision and mission, and I see the main benefit of my affiliation to be the increased opportunities for collaboration with other faculty, staff, and students affiliated with AMP.
