Frederick Michel

Research and education by my group focuses on composting: the recycling of organic materials for use as fertility sources and carbon sequestration, reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with landfilling organic materials, and displacing fossil fuels used for the production of fertilizers to improve the sustainability of agriculture. We also conduct research on the conversion of cellulosic biomass, including food crop byproducts, to biofuels. This work contributes to AMP's mission to improve the environmental and economic impacts of agroecosystems. We work with communities, farmers, government and industry.
