My research goals are to understand how agroecosystems function and respond to environmental disturbances (such as flooding or drought) and to design and test management strategies to increase ecosystem resilience. The function of ecosystem is studied with a systems approach, thus there is investigation of relationships among the ecosystem’s component parts (such as animals, plants, soil, water, and air).
