Vinayak Shedekar
I work at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, soil health, and water management. A majority of my research is geared towards improving/enhancing the sustainability and resiliency of grain cropping systems in Ohio and the Midwest. My program works on innovative water management techniques for improving farm profitability as well as ecosystem services. Further, we have partnered with several Ohio producers to explore the impacts of long-term soil health practices on water quality and farm profitability. My extension program heavily focuses on training workforce on principles of conservation drainage - in-turn preparing them for designing drainage and water management practices for sustainable farming. These activities align perfectly with the AMP mission and vision.
