As a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics, my work aligns closely with AMP’s mission to create socially and economically viable, sustainable, and resilient farming systems. My research focuses on understanding the intersection of agribusiness practices, economic profitability, and environmental sustainability, with an emphasis on policy interventions that promote equitable outcomes for farmers, food consumers, and rural communities.
I explore the role of economic incentives, market dynamics, and public policies in enhancing agroecosystem management, promoting biodiversity, and fostering resilience in agricultural systems. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between economic theory and practical solutions that support farmer livelihoods, environmental health, and consumer benefits. By integrating economic analysis with operational principles, my research contributes to a deeper understanding of how farming and food systems can achieve long-term sustainability and social equity.
In collaboration with AMP, I look forward to expanding the use of economic theory and business analysis in what is broadly defined as agriculture and strengthening connections between stakeholders to foster sustainable agricultural and food systems. My work complements AMP’s vision by applying economic tools to advance the broader goals of sustainability and equity in agroecosystem management.
